End of Line Marking Machine

Our laser marking machine, integrated into the output of the wire-winding machine used in hydraulic hose production, was developed to mark areas containing defects—such as wire breakage, skipped wires, or braiding irregularities—prior to the coating process. This facilitates the tracking of defective sections during production and their identification during subsequent processing stages.

Hydraulic hose production / Braid quality control after wire winding and marking of defective areas prior to coating.

01

Problem

A need has arisen to monitor for wire breakages, wire skips, and improper weave structures that may occur during the wire winding process, and to mark identified defective areas before proceeding to the coating stage.

02

Solution

A solution has been developed to mark defective areas—identified during braiding inspection—by integrating a laser marking system at the output of the wire winding machine. The marking process is carried out in a position aligned with the hose production flow, thereby facilitating the tracking of defective sections.

Result

An infrastructure has been established to enable the marking of defective areas—identified after wire wrapping—prior to coating. This has facilitated the identification of faulty areas and their assessment during quality control processes.

The project addressed the integration of a braiding inspection and defective zone marking process into the production flow following the wire winding stage:

Machine layout: Positioning the laser marking station at the output of the wire winding machine, in alignment with the pre-coating process sequence.

Inspection scope: Assessment of wire breakage, wire skipping, and irregularities in the braid structure.

Defective zone marking: Laser marking of the defective areas identified during inspection.

Inspection and marking coordination: Linking defect data with the marking step to ensure the correct zone is marked.

Mechanical and automation integration: Adapting the marking system to the hose routing path and the existing machine's operating setup.

Testing and commissioning: Verifying the alignment between the defective zone and the marking position, as well as the visibility of the marks, using sample products.

These efforts aimed to facilitate the tracking of wire braiding defects and support quality control practices within the production process.
